Cyber Security
Understand how systems get attacked, and how to defend them. Covers threat detection, incident response, and security best practices.

About Track
You cannot defend a system you do not understand, so this track teaches both how attacks happen and how defenders respond. You'll learn to analyse logs, detect threats, respond to incidents, and document findings to prevent repeat attacks.
The focus is on hands-on defensive practice in realistic environments. Networking fundamentals are covered from scratch, making this a suitable entry point into cyber security.

What You Will Learn
Security fundamentals
Confidentiality, integrity and availability as working constraints, threat actors and their motives, risk, and the vocabulary of the field.
Network and system security
Firewalls, segmentation, secure configuration and hardening, plus the protocol-level weaknesses attackers rely on.
Identity and access
Authentication, authorisation, multi-factor, privilege management, and why most real incidents start with a credential.
Threats and attack techniques
How intrusions actually unfold, mapped to a recognised framework, studied in controlled environments so you can recognise the pattern in logs.
Detection and monitoring
Log sources, aggregation, writing detections that fire on the right thing, and tuning out the noise that makes alerts get ignored.
Incident response
Running an incident end to end: triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and the write-up that turns one incident into a control.
This is only a snippet of what the track covers. To get started, register now.
