Automation
Learn to build the scripts and systems that eliminate manual work, from infrastructure automation to workflow orchestration.
Automation: ansible-playbook provision.yml. TASK [install packages] ok=12 changed=0. TASK [harden sshd] ok=4 changed=1. PLAY RECAP unreachable=0 failed=0. run it twice, nothing changes. that is the point.
About Track
Automation is the difference between an engineer who can complete a task and one who can make that task repeatable without manual effort. This track takes you from writing useful scripts to managing infrastructure through code, configuration management, and automated pipelines.
The focus is on building solutions that are repeatable, reliable, and safe to run. Some command-line experience helps, but the track starts from the fundamentals and builds the programming skills you need along the way.

What You Will Learn
Scripting foundations
Shell and Python for operations work: files, processes, APIs, error handling, and writing a script someone else can safely run.
Version control and collaboration
Git properly. Branching, review, and treating operational code with the same discipline as application code.
Configuration management
Declaring the state a machine should be in and letting a tool converge on it, with idempotency as the organising idea.
Infrastructure as code
Defining infrastructure in version-controlled files, planning changes before applying them, and managing state across environments.
CI/CD pipelines
Building pipelines that test and deploy automatically, with gates, rollbacks and the judgement of what to automate and what to leave manual.
Monitoring and orchestration
Scheduling and orchestrating work across systems, then instrumenting it so that a silent failure is not possible.
This is only a snippet of what the track covers. To get started, register now.
